WRIST CADDY

Privacy policy

Effective 3 November 2026. Wrist Caddy ("we", "us") is a free app for logging which watch you wear, made by an independent developer. Questions: wristcaddyapp@gmail.com.

The short version

  • You don't need an account. We don't ask for your email, and we don't keep a list of users.
  • Your watches, wears, photos and stats live on your phone.
  • Two optional features send information to the internet to work: auto-fill (looks up a watch's specs) and Snap your wrist (matches a wrist photo to your watches). Nothing is sent unless you use them.
  • We don't keep your photos. We have no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and we never sell data.

What stays on your phone

Your name or nickname, your watches, their photos, your wear history, your settings and your stats are stored on your phone only. If you delete a watch in the app, it is removed from your phone. If you delete the app, everything it stored goes with it. We cannot see this information and cannot recover it for you.

What leaves your phone, and why

1. Auto-fill (when you add or edit a watch and tap auto-fill). We send the make, model and reference number you typed. Our service looks up the watch's specifications and returns them. Results for a given watch are saved on our service so the next lookup is faster. That saved record contains the watch's specifications only, not who asked for it.

2. Snap your wrist (when you take or choose a wrist photo to log a wear). We send:

Our service asks an AI model which of your watches is in the photo, what kind of strap it is, and where the watch is in the picture. The answer comes straight back to your phone. We do not save the photos or the names on our service.

Who handles that information

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers.

An anonymous install code

When the app is first used it makes a random code that is not linked to your name or device. It is sent with auto-fill and matching requests so our service can limit how often one phone can call it, which prevents abuse and runaway costs. It is not used to identify or track you.

Permissions the app asks for

You can change these any time in your phone's Settings.

Sharing

The app can make share cards: a picture showing a watch, your wear counts and, if you choose, your wrist photo and your handle. A card is only shared when you choose where to send it, using your phone's own share sheet. "Show my photo" lets you leave your wrist photo off any card.

AI can be wrong

Specifications from auto-fill and watch matches from Snap your wrist come from an AI and can be wrong. Please check them. You can always change a watch's details or pick a different watch.

Keeping and deleting your information

We hold no account or profile for you, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Delete watches or photos inside the app, or delete the app, to remove them from your phone. Information already sent to Anthropic for a request is handled under Anthropic's retention terms above.

Children

Wrist Caddy is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change how the app handles information (for example, by moving matching onto your phone, or adding an account), we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
